What We Do.
Towards Ahimsa conducts overnight camps and day workshops for community groups. Participants are encouraged to examine how they can apply Ahimsa to various aspects of their lives.
Towards Ahimsa also organizes and participates in events which promote ahimsa in the community. If you have an idea for a community event, please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org
Towards Ahimsa Volunteers at Veg Food Bank Day
TA Directors and volunteers had the pleasure of volunteering at the Toronto Vegetarian Food Bank to build community and learn from others who follow vegetarianism. In was a unique and compassionate approach to food security right in our own backyard! To lear more about TVFB, visit http://tvfb.ca/
We collected gently used clothing at the JSOT and Sri Jain Mandir. With outstanding support we collected 360 lbs! All the clothes collected were donated to the Salvation Army, a reputable organization with reach across Canada.
This was a hands-on project to take the concepts of Ahimsa and interconnectedness into practice. It was led by the Towards Ahimsa Leaders-in-Training (LIT)group. We had fun while making a positive change to our environment.
Cedar Row Farm Sanctuary
Towards Ahimsa had the chance to experience some amazing work done by the Cedar Row Farm Sanctuary in Lakeside, Ontario. After a day of meeting the animals, hard labour, and laughs, we all joined for a wonderful Potlatch meal. We thank Cedar Row for the opportunity.
